SPORTS REPORT 2017-18
The crowning glory in the cap of sports history of our college is the International representation in Floor ball in 2017 by Mr. Avinash T.T and Mr. Poovaiah I B . These two sports men have launched the fame of the college at the international level by taking part in Asia Oceania International Championship.

At this juncture I sincerely thank the management who have been like the polestars envisaging our success by providing quality infrastructure necessary for sports enabling our students to represent at district, state and national level events. The multipurpose indoor stadium that we have in our college has been instrumental in producing nearly 70 national players in a short span of three years and two international floor ball players.
- Cauvery degree college Hockey men team won the world Olympic day hockey tournament organized by hockey coorg on 23rd June 2017 at Ponnampet turf grounds.
- Our women throw ball & hockey men team were winners in the Mangalore University traditional sports and games Inter collegiate tournament organized by Kavery College Virajpet on 18th August 2017.
- Mr Jagan Rai B.N of II BCA secured I place in Mangalore University Inter Collegiate traditional sports in coconut shooting competition.
- Degree women table tennis team was placed IV in Mangalore university Inter collegiate table tennis tournament organized by MGM college Udupi.
- Throw ball women team has secured II place in state level Kesarugadde Kridakuta organized by department of youth empowerment and sports government of Karnataka on 12th September 2017 and received 7000/- cash prize.
- Thanush Robbins of I BA has secured Bronze medal in MUIC athletic championship at Mangalore and secured IV position in south zone Amature nationals at Trivendrum and secured gold medal in Karnataka state Athletic state meet held at Bangalore.
- Mr Radha Krishna R of I BA created a history by winning Gold medal in Long jump and Bronze medal in 100 mtr dash. In MUIC Athletic meet at Mangalore.
- Miss Kavana V.B of II M.Com represented Mangalore university south zone. Hockey tournament held at Annamalai University Chidambaram and represented Mangalore university in All India Inter University Hockey tournament at Gwalior and also represented Hockey Coorg team for 8th Hockey India Senior women National Championship at Ranchi, Jarkhand.
- Foot ball team won silver medal at Mangalore university. Inter collegiate championship and won 3rd place in inter zone championship.
- Mr Rahul B.N and Mr. Tenin Joseph C.J of I B.com qualified for National Flying tennis umpire exam conducted by Indian Flying tennis Association of India held at Pune on 9th November 2017 and also represented Karnataka state team for Flying tennis first federation cup and 1st single National championship at Kollapur Maharashtra ( on 26th to 28th January 2018.
- Miss Dechamma K.H II B.com, Koushalya B.C of II B.Com. Monisha Muthamma of II B.Com, Supritha K.M II B.Com & Ponnamma G.B of II B.Com represented the Karnataka state team in Flying tennis 1st federation cup and 1st single Nationals at Kollapur Maharashtra, on 26th and 28th January 2018.
- Mr Sachin M.P of II BCA represented state team for 12th senior Nationals. Floor ball championship at Vidhya Global university Meerut (U.P) on 23rd to 25th December 2017 and won Gold.
- Mr Uthaiah M.P of I BBA represented Karnataka State team for 12th junior Floor ball championship at Pune (Maharashtra) on 12th to 14th January 2018 and won Gold.
- Sandesh Belliappa M.G III B.Com, Madhu T.S of I MA , Hemanth A.M of I BA, Somanna P.U of I BA represented Mangalore university in south zone Inter university tournament held at Bangalore on 22nd to 28th January 2018.
- Carl Cariappa P.K of I B.com represented the Karnataka state team for 2nd Indian premier league Tchouk ball championship on26th to 28th January 2018 at Pune (Maharashtra).
I thank all the dynamic sports persons who have proved their mettle on the ground. It wouldn’t have been possible without the encouragement and unwavering support of our coaches Sri. Kullachanda Bopanna, Director, Cauvery Education Society, Sri. Minnanda Joyappa and Mr. Poovaiah I.B and Mr Subbaiah C.G who were the moral fiber in instilling confidence and positive spirit in us.
Sports Report 2018-19
Cauvery College Hockey Men’s team had a great 2018-19. As team performed to the Record status by winning Five Major tournaments they were champions in
- National Sports Day Hockey tournament held at Ponnampet
- Mangalore University Inter Collegiate Hockey tournament
- MICA tournament won cash prize of Rs.15,000/-
- Vidyashram tournament, cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-
- Cauvery College Virajpet tournament, Cash prize of Rs.15,000/-
Students of our college represented University levels
- Madhu T.S II M.A, Carl Kariayppa P.K II B.Com, Hemanth A.M II B.A, Sommanna P.U II B.A, Darshan M.D I B.A, Pruthvi P.J I B.A, represented Mangalore University in South Zone Hockey Champinship.
- Pruthvi I B.A was the Mangalore university team Captain and he was awarded as best goli in the
- Carl Kariyappa P.K II B.Com, Uthaiah M.P II BBA were Best Half and Best forward positions player respectively.
- Basket Ball (Men) team represented Mangalore university Inter Collegiate MUIC tournament held at NITTE College and served 4th place in championship round .
- Volley Ball: (Mens team represented Mangalore University inter Collegiate tournament held at campus and secured 3rd place in preliminary round.The team has won four prestigious State and District level tournament organised in different parts of Kodagu, Karnataka. Prajwal of II B.Com was honoured as best blocker.
- The Floor Ball players represented both State and National level tournament organised by Indian Floor Ball Federation of India, which held at Bangalore and also at ITM University Gwalior, Emerging winners and leaguer Qualifying. Kavan II B.Com, Sachin P III BCA, Bopanna A S II B.Com, Uthaiah M.P II BBA.
- Darshini M.V I B.Com, Aishwarya S I B.Com, Ashwini T.S I B.Com played South Zone held at Dharmapura, Tamil Nadu and represented Nationals.
Athletics:
Mr. R Radha Krishna has represented
- Karnataka State juniors and senior
- Mangalore university Athletic Championship and secured first in 100mts, High jump, and 110 mts
- First in 100 mts and Second place in High jump.
Womens:
Hockey womens team participated in rural women’s tournament organised by Mangalore University and emerged winners and also over all championship in the tournament buy winning Laggori, Throw Ball, Volley Ball and Tug of war.
